Valley High School is starting off their year with a bang! The new student body council is excited for this great year ahead of us. The new student body president is Easton Bonham, vice president is Orrin Wood, secretary is Logan Dean and public relations officer is Saige Cox.
The Valley High School volleyball team so far is undefeated. Coming together as a team at the start of the season has helped them gain wins over the other schools in their region.
They have claimed victories over Bryce Valley, Parowan, Escalante twice, and Fredonia.
The varsity volleyball team also went to the Dixie Fly High Tournament last weekend and won first place in their division!
The Valley High School baseball team has been having a great season so far. They started out the year competing in the Jeff Wood Memorial Tournament held at Valley High School and ended up taking third place. They also played some exhibition games in Richfield versus Pinnacle, St. Joseph and Manila, and outscored their opponents 54-4.
After playing each team in the region once, Valley’s region record is 5-2. The first loss came to Piute in a thrilling nine-inning affair that ended up with the Buffalos on the losing side of a 4-3 game. Valley went on to defeat Green River 13-3, before falling to Panguitch 6-4. Since that loss, the Buffalos have been on a roll, defeating Wayne 8-1, Pinnacle 3-0, Diamond Ranch 10-1, and Bryce Valley 8-1.
With only seven games remaining before postseason play begins, the Buffaloes look to finish strong and head into the postseason with some momentum.
Our school just got a brand new baseball scoreboard that everyone is excited about. It looks awesome up on the hill showing our Valley spirit.
We would especially like to thank all of our sponsors that made this possible: KB Oil, Garkane Energy, Alton Coal, South Central Communications, Maxwell Construction, Orderville Town, Hampton Inn, State Bank of Southern Utah, Thunderbird Restaurant, Baird Diesel Repair and Braggin’ Rights Taxidermy.
